Upon finding myself repeatedly getting sick after air travel I bought the AirTamer purifier as originally marketed by Brookstone. Four years and over a hundred flights later (many, long international flights) and I have never come down with as much as a cold. Of course, you need to make sure to wash or sanitize your hands before eating (any means of public transportation is never thoroughly cleaned.
I just got back from the Dominican Republic where I gave my beloved filter to a allergy based asthmatic because she was ending up in the hospital a few times a month. I was told that she was doing much better after one day wearing this unit. Well, I immediately ordered a new one for myself and was pleasantly surprised to see it arrive in this great little aluminum carrying case. The unit is so tiny and unobtrusive yet highly effective. You can actually feel the air movement if you hold it up to your cheek. The battery seems to last forever. I have given out quite a few to friends.
One last point. If you touch the tip while it is operating, it will shut down and reactivate after a bit. |
Excellent Product!

| We are pretty skeptical of any product similar to this one . . . but somehow this really works! A doctor recommended this to us to use on planes, but over the past Holiday season, we wore them everywhere: church, shopping, visiting, planes, school. Neither of us has caught a cold, flu or anything this season (even with a low immune system). Try it! I think it is totally worth the $$$. Just be prepared to purchase lots of cell batteries and remember to shut it off when not in use. |
Lifesaver, now I can shop in public during cold/flu season & stay healthy

| I have had this for 2 years, bought it from amazon, and am enormously pleased with it. Mine is quiet, no noise, whine, sound at all, so the person here complaining about a noise must have had a defective unit. In those 2 years, I have been cold/flu free. Of course I make absolutely certain to wear it in public, shopping for groceries, attending church, going to doctors, meeting people face to face for all kinds of transactions, and make sure it is a) on and b) battery is good. I have found the battery life to last for hours and hours, so that has been a plus too. Also, as opposed to another wearable air filter I bought at the same time, this one can be worn in public and not make you look out of place or draw unusual attention, as the other did that looks like a futuristic large lit-up pendant. This one instead can pass for a small cell phone hanging around your neck, totally acceptable wear in public. When people do ask what I am wearing, as some sometimes think it is a recording device, I let them know it is an air purifier and works great against allergies, and no one even looks twice at it again. I highly recommend this product. If you end up getting a noisy one, something is wrong and you need to exchange it for one that works. 2 years later mine is still working great, still quiet, still protecting me when I venture into unknown public situations where you never know if you will be exposed to sick folk who even themselves don't know they are contagious, or will deny they are but are sniffling and coughing in your face. |

A friend of mine with Multiple Myeloma recommended this device. One of his oncologist said he wears it on flights and has seen a reduction in catching colds.
Since I also have Multiple Myeloma I purchased the device and wear it anytime I am in a crowded area. I haven't got sick this winter thank God. You don't really know if it is working or not but I hope so.
It is small enough that it looks like a MP3 player. Be sure and check with your airline before you take it on a flight.God Bless |

My wife has a lot of trouble with sometimes poor air quality in the workplace. We work at DFW airport and she is up close and personal with lots of people ... with lots of health issues ... as well as a dirty work environment.
She has trouble with catching lots of colds or other respiratory problems from the thousands of passengers she sees every day. She also has problems with headaches caused by dusty and dirty air in the terminals.
A flight attendant told her about the portable air cleaner and how it helped her so we looked it up and bought one.
It isn't a perfect solution but it is a big improvement. She now has fewer headaches and seems less bothered by whatever the passengers are sneezing and coughing around.
This product seems to be doing exactly what it claims to do, help her breathe cleaner air. |
